The mission statement of The Thornton Township Food Assistance Program seeks to serve the needs of the community, and to answer the needs of the community for food assistance.

We recognize and understand that persons of fixed incomes or underemployed deserve good quality nutritional food, and to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of race, sex, ethnic background, religion, or socio-economic standing.

Calumet City Resources is and emergency pantry for Calumet City residents – in operation for over twenty years. The pantry is supported by the City of Calumet City, several churches, businesses and many generous individuals. Everyone who works for the Pantry is a volunteer.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is Cook County’s local food bank. We provide food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. Working with a network of more than 700 partner agencies and programs including food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters, we provide food and hope for our neighbors in need every day.
