Black History Month Contest

Mayor Thaddeus M. Jones and City Council presents a continued Celebration of Black History Month!
All contest submissions are due no later than Monday, February 27, 2026, by 9:00 AM
Contest entries must include name, address, age, and category number
Category 1: Ages 7 to 9
Category 2: Ages 10 to 12
Category 3: Ages 13 to 16
- Category 1 and 2 must draw Former President Obama, picture provided on the contest flyer.
- Category 3, participants are asked to prepare a two-page essay on a “Little Known Fact in Black History.”

All contest entries must be submitted by email to Chyna Herring at cherring@calumetcity.org due no later than Monday, February 27, 2026, by 9:00 AM.
