Black History Month Contest

Mayor Thaddeus M. Jones presents a continued Celebration of Black History Month!

Each category has one (1) first-prize winner and two (2) second-place winners.

1. For category 1, participants aged 7 through 11 must draw the Mayor’s picture provided on the contest flyer.
2. Additionally, for category 2, participants aged 12 through 16 can prepare a two-page essay on a “Little Known Fact in Black History.”
3. Lastly, for category 3, participants aged 17 and older are asked to write a poetry piece to reflect Black History.

All contest entries must be submitted by email to Christina Signorelli at csignorelli@calumetcity.org no later than Friday, February 24, 2023, by 4:00 pm.
