Mayor Michelle Markiewicz Qualkinbush and the City Council have partnered with Republic Services to provide our city’s garbage and recycling collection.
Effective February 1, 2016, Republic Services will deliver two (2) new blue carts to every single family home and two-unit building. One cart is for garbage collection only and one cart is for recycling collection only.
Calumet City officials are excited to partner with Republic Services to create a new recycling program in Calumet City. Republic is dedicated to making a difference in each and every community they service and it shows. Every year they collect nearly 5 million tons of recyclable materials from communities just like ours. It’s just part of what they do to create efficient, cleaner, and safer recycling and waste solutions – all for a better planet.
