Due to overnight civil unrest in the Chicagoland area, the The Calumet City Police Department is taking preventative measures to safeguard our community.
Beginning at 1 p.m. today, expressway exits ramps at 159th street, Sibley Blvd and Dolton Road will be closed until further notice. Drivers will still be able to access the on ramps in both directions.
Southbound Torrence Avenue will also closed at 159th street at 1 p.m. and traffic will be diverted. Additionally, access to River Oaks East and West shopping centers is now restricted.
