South Suburban College Adult Volunteer Literacy Program

South Suburban College Adult Volunteer Literacy Program

Become a volunteer tutor!

South Suburban College has launched its Adult Volunteer Literacy program, a free initiative funded through the Illinois State Library. The program is structured to train volunteers to become one-on-one tutors for adults needing basic literacy skills. Providing adult literacy services enables the community members to engage in their family, work, and community roles.

It’s an enriching experience that provides professional development, educational and networking opportunities, scholarships, letters of recommendation for jobs, and more! They are recruiting caring adults willing to commit to becoming a tutor paraprofessional.
