Valued Calumet City Business Owners and Licensees,
2024 Business License Renewal Summary:

The Business License Renewal Season is here! Your 2023 City of Calumet City Business License expires December 31, 2023. The 2024 Business License Renewal Application process is now open!

All applications and supporting documentation must be submitted electronically to businesslicense@calumetcity.org. HARD COPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

The following documentation must be included with the application for renewal:

  • Business owner valid photo ID
  • Emergency contact valid photo ID
  • Copy of Illinois Sales Tax Certificate (Certificate of Registration)
  • Copy of tentative lease agreement
  • Copy of certificate of insurance
  • Two (2) most recent years of paid property taxes if you are property owner
  • Any other required certificates or licenses (e.g., barbershop, beautician, restaurant, daycare etc.)

A $150.00 application processing fee must be submitted with your application and all required documentation for renewal. This fee is non-refundable!

Failure to complete any portion of the application or failure to submit all required documentation including the processing fee will result in delay and possible denial of the application.

If a section is not applicable, please indicate as such. Do not leave blank.

Business owners are required to provide an email address and phone number to be used for communications with the City.

If the business license application is approved, the business license certificate fee shall be due within 7 days of notice of the approval. The City will notify you via email upon approval. Failure to submit payment by January 31, 2024, will incur a fifty-percent (50%) late fee of the total business license fee.

No business is authorized to operate until a business license has been issued by the City.

Failure to obtain a current business license while operating your business will result in penalties and /or closure of the business.
